Watched Angels & Demons (actually almost a week ago). Too busy to post the review :)



This film is about a symbolist named Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks, played in Da Vinci Code) that's called by the church (AGAIN??). The Pope died and the four preferitti (primary hopeful for the papacy) is kidnapped by an anti-catholic organization named Illuminati. Strangely though, Illuminati is already extinct. The killer leaves clues that says that every hour one of the preferitti will be killed. Robert Langdon and Vittoria Vetra travel throughout Rome to reveal the truth (I know I know, my language is too LEBAY)

My opinion? 4 OUT OF 5 STARS!

This movie is AMAZING! TWO THUMBS UP! :))) Hm this is so not a cheesy movie so you have to think if you watch this film. But I haven't read the book actually, and am going to read it. But I'm sure the book is even much much better. So maybe (MAYBE ya) if I watch this movie when I already read the book I'll give 3 stars, or 2.5
But in my opinion, Angels & Demons is much much much much better than The Da Vinci Code (the movie I mean). Hm too lazy to write much.

Bukan Cinta Biasa

I watched Bukan Cinta Biasa with my family aahaquhnureaxdmgfklar

The film was about a 80's rocker named Tommy, who was IS a playboy. He was surprised to death (nooo i'm just exaggerating) when a 16-yrs-old girl named Nikita showed up in his house, and said that she was his daughter. Nikita had to stay in Tommy's house because of her mother, which is Tommy's ex girlfriend, had to go to America, but Nikita had to finish her school. Sooo, Tommy had to be a father whileeee he had a very very shabby and not-too-sexy-and-trying-to-be-sexy girlfriend named ANGEL (yes another devil named angel) played by JULIA PEREZ. Yeaaah so just watch this movie to find out.

1.5 stars out of 5.

Quiet food for Indonesian movies. Actually this is GOOD if we compare it with Susuk Pocong, or Pocong Kamar Sebelah, or Pocong Poco Poco, or whatever. But there are some ewww factors in this film:

1. JULIA PEREZ. Go to your momma's a**. Actually she's not that bad, if she's not exploiting her BIG BIG breast and puh-leaaaase get a life BRA! (sorry)

2. The dialogue was... cliche. So teenlit. Lebeeeeeey. For example :

N : Tapi aku nggak mau pergi! Blah blah blah noAOFASF

T : Tapi cinta tak harus memiliki... etc etc etc.

Pleaaaaseeee! Hello, we're in 2009, not 1970! Just make it like an everyday-dialogue. Don't use such a 'lebay' word. There are some scenes that is suppose to be tearjerking, but because of this ew factor, turned out to be a laughjerking scenes.

But overall, the film was quiet good. I give 1.5 stars out of 5, and I'm sure I'll give infinite middle fingers out of infinite middle fingers if I watch Pocong pocongan or whateverrrrr.

Once

I watched Once yesterday night.



The film was about a Dublin guitarist, singer and songwriter who makes a living by fixing vacuum cleaners in his dad's Hoover repair shop by day, and singing and playing for money on the Dublin streets by night. An (unnamed) Girl is a Czech who plays piano when she gets a chance, and does odd jobs by day and takes care of her mom and her daughter by night. Guy meets Girl, and they get to know each other as the Girl helps the Guy to put together a demo disc that he can take to London in hope of landing a music contract. During the same several day period, the Guy and the Girl work through their past loves, and reveal their budding love for one another, through their songs. (i copied this from imdb)

This is an indie movie, you can see it from the lighting, the angles, etc etc. So if you love a blockbuster movie this is a crap. But if you love indie movie (hell yeah i LOVE indie movie. I love MOVIES) this movie is a blast. FYI it won an OSCAR for Best Achievement for Music Written for Motion Picture for the soundtrack, and other 14 wins and 18 nominations. WOW. And really, the soundtracks are WONDERFUL AND GREAT! I guess this movie wasn't made to be a blockbuster, it's not really commercial (yeah because it's an indie movie, silly) and the story is NOT commercial. The ending is realistic, and it's not a kind of you-can-guess-the-ending-from-the-start movie. It's realistic.

Oh, and independent-movie-LOVERS. (lovers? whew) YOU. MUST. WATCH. THIS. FILM. This is a good indie movie, but i'm sure for those who love major movie (what's the opposite of indie movie?) this is a crap, and this movie doesn't have a point. SINCE I'M A BIT WEIRD AND INDIE (not really girlzzz but I want to write this because it sounds good) SO I REALLY LOVE THIS MOVIE, ESPECIALLY THE MUSIC. Oh and for those who love music very much, watch this movie. The soundtracks are won.der.ful.

A Walk To Remember (yyyyyyyy)

I watched A Walk To Remember yesterday. The film was GRRREEEEEAAAAT! Really really GRREEEAAAT! Okay, A Walk to Remember is a really girly movie, so I think those who don't enjoy teen-flick-and-drama-movies won't enjoy this great movie. Really, I almost cried when I watched this movie. Okay, I CRIED. I CRIED. AHUHAHUAUA This movie is really really romantic. RO-MAN-TIC. Overload romance (hahblah). AHUHAUHUAHUSIAOHMFWHENIEWGYMTFDW. Here's the synopsis.

In Beaufort, North Carolina, a prank on a student goes terribly wrong and puts the student in the hospital. Landon Carter, a popular student with no defined plans for the future, is held responsible and forced to participate in after-school community service activities as punishment, which include starring as the lead in the school play. Also participating in these activities is Jamie Sullivan, the reverend's daughter who has great ambitions and nothing in common with Landon. When Landon decides he wants to take his activities seriously, he asks Jamie for help and begins to spend most of his time with her. But he starts to develop strong feelings for her, something he did not expect to do. The two start a relationship, much to the chagrin of Landon's old popular friends and Jamie's strict reverend father. But when a heart-breaking secret becomes known that puts their relationship to the test, it is then that Landon and Jamie realize the true meaning of love and fate.

The Sound of Music

In my last post I wrote that my friggin computer makes my life even worse than before so i think I won't write much in this post.

I just watched The Sound of Music, I know i'm way too late but who cares? lol Here's the synopsis:

Maria (Julie Andrews) had longed to be a nun since she was a young girl, yet when she became old enough discovered that it wasn't at all what she thought. Often in trouble and doing the wrong things, Maria is sent to the house of a retired naval captain, named Captain Von Trapp (Christopher Plummer) , to care for his children. Von Trapp was widowed several years before and was left to care for seven 'rowdy' children. The children have run off countless governesses. Maria soon learns that all these children need is a little love to change their attitudes. Maria teaches the children to sing, and through her, music is brought back into the hearts and home of the Von Trapp family. Unknowingly, Maria and Captain Von Trapp are falling helplessly in love, except there are two problems, the Captain is engaged, and Maria is a postulant!

The movie was GREEEAAAAT! Hm maybe it's a bit lebay but who cares? It was made in 1965 and everybody knows that 1965 was an era of 'lebay' things (the seven year itch is even worse)

Maybe if you're not a dramatic-vintage-lovers this film is a crap but really, in my opinion, this is greaaat. I love the songs and clothes (you know I'm a bit old-fashioned)

Books

Last holiday, I bought two books in the airport to read in the airplane, For One More Day and The Devil and Miss Prym.

I've read For One More Day, but when I want to read The Devil and Miss Prym, the book's gone. Where is it gone? I'm sooo curious about the story. Anyway, I decided to read The Da Vinci Code in english version. And I think the english version is much more better than the Indonesian version :)

I'm still searching for The Devil and Miss Prym, and suddenly I realized that For One More Day also disappeared from my bookshelf. Hey sister, do you take it?

I hope the Devil and Miss Prym is as great as For One More Day. :p Maybe better.

Mini's First Time

I just watched Mini's First Time. The film is about a girl named Mini, a daughter of a gold-digging former actress. Mini prizes her 'unique experiences', she called them 'firsts'. For excitement, and to add lists of her firsts, she decides to be a call-girl. And her second client is-guess what? Her stepfather! And they want to kill Mini's mother slowly. So.. just watch the film :) I'm too lazy to type hehe. the film was quiet good, and one word: TRICKY!

The Strangers

Katanyaaaa this is inspired by true events, yaya maybe. The movie is about a couple named Kristen (Liv Tyler) and James (Scott Speedman). They are staying at a summer house. FYI, this summer house is ISOLATED, seriously. Suddenly, at about 4am there's someone knocking the door and asking if someone is home, and she is told that it is the wrong house. But they get terrorized by 3 silent-masked intruders.

My opinion :

1. there are too much intruders. One is enough. Two, tricky. Three? Main keroyokan aje lu.

2. Endingnya nggak jelas. Now, I even don't know who the intruders were. Dan klimaksnya nggak ditonjolkan. Ini dia dialog intinya:

James and Kristen : Why do you do this to us? (sob sob)

Intruders : Because you were home.

bla bla bla bla gitu deh

Lah? Ngerti nggak lo? Gue sih nggak.

3. Do you know? Tokohnya cuma 8 mameeeeeeen. Bener2 nggak ada yang laen, itu juga yang disorot terus cuma 2. Okay, banyaknya tokoh emang nggak menjamin mutu film, buktinya I am Legend itu bagus banget. But, sorry to say, 8 tokoh di sini itu membosankan. Mungkin butuh 100 tokoh utama supaya film ini lebih seru.

4. I know, I know, sometimes characters in horror/thriller movies do  A LOT of silly things. But this is too much. Gue nggak tau Liv Tyler segoblok itu.

CONCLUSION : Sorry to say, but I regret that I watched this movie. Untung nggak nonton di bioskop. And I think Halloween is better than this.
