Saranne, a mother with 5-years-old daughter, received a news that she had stage four breast cancer. "I had a little girl, and a life expectancy of 5 years. I was scared senseless." She let herself cry for a long time, and then she turned on video tapes. She realized there was a very fine line between histerical crying and laughter. And she chosed laughter.
She decided to bring laughter to her chemotherapy. So, she bought some comedy tape and watched them at the chemo clinic. Everyone in the room--especially Saranne--felt more hopeful. And now, Saranne is cancer-free. She established The Comedy Cures Foundation, an organization that brings laughter and joy to kids and grown-ups living with illness/depression. Through large and small scale therapeutic comedy programs, they entertain the patients, caregivers, and families. When you're entertained, then you get more relaxed. They teach the benefits of laughter to body, mind, and soul. "Yes, laughter is the best medicine!"
Do you think so?
